Highland Fling

Having enjoyed Ecurie25’s Lamborghini Gallardo so much last time, I decided to take the Yellow Peril out again for an extended run: 1,800 miles over five days exploring the best driving roads that Scotland has to offer.

There isn’t much to add to the driving impressions over the last report, except that the Gallardo was suprisingly practical and coped well with whatever weather was thrown at us: snow, rain, wind and beautiful sunshine. Whilst you will never be able to show of the full extent of your wardrobe on a trip in the Gallardo, there was sufficient room to pack for two for the trip - a squashy bag on the shelf behind the seats in the cabin freeing up enough space in the front ‘boot’ for a hard suitcase and other bits’n'bobs.

The epic and deserted Scottish roads allowed the Lambo’s performance to come to the fore, reinforcing just how effortless (and obscenely) quick a method of transport this thing is.

We were passing Steve Carter’s highland hideaway so he kindly came out and met us, taking a couple more of his outstanding photos and guiding us to a local hostelry for refreshment. Cheers Steve!
